Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Northeast India, located in Manipur. It is famous for its unique floating islands called “phumdis”, which are made of soil, plants, and organic matter. People even live on these floating lands, and one of them, Keibul Lamjao National Park, is the world’s only floating national park — home to the rare Sangai deer.
