Roll out! CSX Locomotive 1877 honoring the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad has officially joined our heritage fleet. The C&EI Railroad, founded in 1877, played a critical role connecting Chicago with southern Illinois, St. Louis, Mo., and Evansville, Ind., during the expansive growth of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Part of the C&EI's Evansville line was eventually sold to the Louisville and Nashville Railroad which ultimately became part of the modern CSX network. #ONECSX | CSX

Our 16th CSX Heritage Locomotive, numbered #1834, is officially on track! This locomotive proudly bears the livery of the historic Georgia Railroad, which was chartered in Athens, GA. At its peak, the Georgia Railroad expanded to include key cities and hundreds of miles of track. It later became part of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and the Family Lines System, ultimately evolving into our modern CSX.
