Like many of you, I was saddened to hear that D’Angelo passed away. I had no idea that he was battling pancreatic cancer either. He was such a unique musician, a neo-soul architect (even though he prefers calling his music “Black music,”) and a generational talent. He only released 3 albums, but even that limited out influenced future eras and gave us a whole new sonic texture. Most can’t do that with 15 albums.
