Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Quintet No. 1 in D minor, Op. 89 is a work of deep lyricism and harmonic richness, reflecting the composer’s evolving style in his later years. Though begun in the 1880s, Fauré revised the quintet extensively before finally completing it in 1905.
