Growing ranunculus • Part 1 • Overwintering in warmer climates (zone 7 ) Plant in November. I like to do a presoak to get those corms hydrated. I soak mine in cool water for 3-4 hours or until the corms look plump. Then I plant them directly into an unheated greenhouse. Once they are planted I like to mulch with compost for added fertility and cold protection.
