Always fun to see the elk eating at the elk refuge! The elk are fed every Winter by the Game and Fish department as there is no feed for them with our long Winters. We have a good sized herd right here in our area, and a couple larger herds up toward Jackson. People always ask if we get many elk on the ranch, and the answer is very few as we have Kona, our LGD, who does a good job chasing off anything that comes on our property (coyotes, deer, birds, elk, fed ex drivers :)) so we don’t see tons.
