The chip-gear maker and its peers have regularly been targeted for their intellectual property by entities with ties to China.

Taiwan government says it has detained three employees on suspicion they obtained the Taiwanese chip giant’s “core technology trade secrets.”

Tokyo Electron Ltd yesterday said it has fired an employee at its Taiwan subsidiary over their alleged involvement in a trade secret leak at Taiwanese chipmaking giant Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC, 台積電).
