Shohei Ohtani is making his Los Angeles Dodgers pitching debut, 21 months after the two-way superstar had elbow surgery.

The team announced the two-way star will take the bump Monday against the San Diego Padres, but ESPN's Alden Gonzalez reported he's likely to only throw one or two innings "in what will basically amount to a continuation of his rehab."

Instead of throwing another live batting practice session this week, Ohtani will pitch an inning or two on Monday against the Padres, marking his first game action on the mound since elbow surgery
