The Florida Panthers have just rolled into Raleigh and embarrassed the Carolina Hurricanes in the first two games of the Eastern Conference Final. In Game 2, the Panthers jumped all over the Hurricanes right out of the gate and cruised to a 5-0 win.

Sam Reinhart and the Florida Panthers will face Sebastian Aho and the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs East Final on Thursday.

Carter Verhaeghe signed an eight-year extension after leading Florida with 11 goals in the 2024 postseason and 72 points in the regular season, following up that campaign with his fourth consecutive 20-goal season in 2024-25. Verhaeghe logged eight points (4-4-8) through two rounds in the 2025 postseason.

The Hurricanes have now lost 14 consecutive Eastern Conference Final games dating back to 2009. While Rod Brind'Amour was a player on the team and Jordan Staal was on the other bench as a Penguin at the time, it still hangs over the franchise heading into Game 3.

The Panthers flat-out dominated the Hurricanes on Thursday, cruising to a 5-0 win to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series with a spot in a third consecutive Stanley Cup Final at stake.

The Florida Panthers are right at home on the road. The defending Stanley Cup champions are 6-2 as the visitors in the playoffs this spring after a 5-2 win against the Carolina Hurricanes in the opener of the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday.
