NAIROBI (Reuters) -One person was killed in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Tuesday during protests sparked by the death of a blogger in police custody that has inflamed accusations of extrajudicial killings by security forces.

Police chief Douglas Kanja has apologised for the initial police claim that the blogger died of self-inflicted wounds, saying it was based on "misinformation" from his juniors.
