But it turns out Memorial Day can be even earlier. For the first time since 2015, the holiday will fall on May 25 in 2026. Depending on the calendar year, the holiday also can fall as late as May 31.

That’s the number of people who were projected to travel over Memorial Day weekend, an increase of 1.4 million over 2024 and a new record high, according to AAA.
