Delhi Capitals announced the appointment of star all-rounder and the men's team's longest-serving player Axar Patel as captain ahead of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), according to a release from Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals appointed Axar Patel as captain for IPL season 18, starting March 22. With 11 years of IPL experience and strong past performances, Patel expressed readiness to lead a promising squad while acknowledging the support from team management.
