It was no different against George Wythe in the Class 1 state final Friday. Even in the 50-44 loss to the Maroons, she never took her foot off the gas.

Franklin (17-13) was playing in its first state title game since 1993 and it did not go well for the Broncos. While George Wythe was on fire, Franklin was ice cold in shooting 11-for-41 from the field, including 1-for-17 from 3-point range.

George Wythe boys and girls basketball teams win Class 1 state championship
The VHSL state championship games began with the girls as George Wythe battled Buffalo Gap. After the first quarter, the game was tied at 17 with Caroline Harris, Makaylan Lutrell, and Kayleigh Hemp leading the way offensively. The Maroons were able to end the half with a 33-25 lead.
