FORT KNOX, Ky. — President Donald Trump remains concerned about the gold at Fort Knox, which is about 35 miles south of Louisville, Kentucky. “We’re actually going to Fort Knox to see if the gold is there because maybe somebody stole the gold, tons of gold,” Trump told reporters Monday after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

"Maybe somebody stole the gold. Tons of gold,” Trump posited Monday, though the Treasury secretary he appointed says that's not the case.

Elon Musk was pushing for an audit of Fort Knox to make sure gold is still there. Donald Trump promised to do just that, but his Treasury Secretary says it's "present and accounted for."
