The family of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students killed by Bryan Kohberger in 2022, railed against him as a “joke,” a “loser,” and “as dumb as they come” in a day of searing victim impact statements.

The Goncalves family has been outspoken about their opposition to the plea deal Kohberger entered earlier this month. Steve Goncalves stormed out of the early July hearing, saying the deal denied his family clarity about his daughters last moments, and calling the process “a zoo.”

The Chapin family had previously said they were content with the plea deal prosecutors made with Bryan Kohberger.
