The Department of Homeland Security removed a list of hundreds of so-called sanctuary jurisdictions that it published on its website Thursday following questions about its accuracy and pointed criticism from a major group representing law enforcement.

Last week, a list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” was issued by the Department of Homeland Security. Since then, the list has been removed from the DHS website, but officials in jurisdictions that appeared on the list have different opinions about what it could mean for their communities.

A list of “ sanctuary jurisdictions” that included Lehigh and Northampton counties no longer appears on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.
