The Colts quarterback competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones is one of the biggest storylines of the NFL preseason, but Richardson's campaign got off to an inauspicious start when he took a hard sack early in the first quarter of Indianapolis' preseason opener against the Ravens.

Jones entered the preseason game earlier than expected when Anthony Richardson went down with an ugly pinky injury on his throwing hand.

For a piece published Friday morning, Colts reporter James Boyd of The Athletic suggested Jones and Richardson are now heading in different directions regarding the battle for the QB1 gig.
