U.S. Rep. Cory Mills, a central Florida Republican, has been accused by a beauty pageant titleholder of threatening to release intimate videos and private images of her after she ended their romantic relationship.

A Republican committeewoman from Florida alleges Mills threatened to release the images "numerous times" after they broke up, according to a police incident report.

So long as national party operatives view the Florida lawmaker’s seat as safe, there is little incentive for GOP leaders to engage.
