YouTube TV and Paramount have agreed on a multi-year deal to keep CBS, MTV and the other 100 plus channels owned by the network on the platform.

YouTube TV announced a deal to keep Paramount channels on its platform had been reached Saturday night, ending a public contract dispute.

YouTube TV has reached a deal with Paramount to avoid cutting off subscribers’ access to certain channels, including CBS, CBS Sports and Nickelodeon. Earlier this week, YouTube TV announced in a blog post that Paramount content would be removed from its platform after February 13 because the two had failed to reach “a fair agreement” that would keep those channels available.

YouTube TV and Paramount have agreed to a short-term deal extension to avoid a blackout of CBS, YouTube announced late Thursday. Paramount wanted a rate hike. Their existing deal expired at 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 13.

In an eleventh-hour agreement late Thursday night, YouTube TV reached what it called a "short-term extension" with Paramount to keep channels such as CBS, Comedy Central and MTV on its subscription streaming service after access to them was set to go dark following failed negotiations around a contract renewal.

The two media companies announced a new deal Saturday night. Paramount's streaming service will be offered as an add-on to YouTube TV customers.
