Carson Kelly collected three hits in the loss for Chicago. Said loss has dropped the Cubs out of first place in the National League's Central division.

Boyd had a stellar 1.78 ERA in June, and he’s carried that brilliance into July, posting a 0.90 ERA across three starts. The hurler had cashed the Under in earned runs allowed in all of those appearances, and he even threw eight shutout innings against the New York Yankees in his last start before the All-Star Game festivities.
