Some Bay Area cities expect trash collection to resume this weekend amid a sanitation workers strike that has sparked delays in service and garbage piling up in neighborhoods. Republic Services on Friday said customers can expect texts,

Chula Vista residents and some businesses were without trash and recycling collection on Thursday as Republic Services workers joined a nationwide strike.

It’s unclear how long the delays could last as many of the county’s trash collectors stand in solidarity with an ongoing strike in Boston.
