An intense public feud erupted on Thursday between President Donald Trump and his one-time ally, billionaire Elon Musk, with an argument about Trump’s massive tax and domestic policy bill raging across social media and in the Oval Office.

The blow up marks the end of an alliance between the president and the billionaire that lasted far longer than many observers expected.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the "easiest way" for the government to save money would be to "terminate" contracts and subsidies going to billionaire Elon Musk, amid an escalating war of words between the commander-in-chief and the world's wealthiest man.
