DALLAS -- The Dallas Mavericks, as expected, took forward Cooper Flagg with the first pick of the 2025 NBA draft Wednesday night. "I'm feeling amazing. It's a dream come true, to be honest," Flagg said after his selection, with his family by his side. "I wouldn't want to share it with anybody else."

The Cooper Flagg era has officially begun as the Mavericks made him the No. 1 overall pick in Wednesday night’s NBA draft. Flagg, wearing a blue three-piece suit with a black tie, walked across the Barclays Center stage to shake the hand of commissioner Adam Silver, fulfilling a longstanding dream of reaching the NBA.

Flagg came into the draft as the presumptive top prospect available after averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals in his lone season for the Blue Devils, shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three.
