The Trump administration on Friday faced swift backlash to the U.S. Department of Justice's deal to end a felony case against Boeing that stemmed from a pair of 737 MAX passenger jet crashes that collectively killed 346 people in Ethiopia and Indonesia.

President Trump’s administration formally accepted a $400 million Boeing 747 from Qatar for Air Force One. Critics, including Democrats, labeled it bribery and a violation of the Foreign Emoluments Clause.

The Qatar-Boeing deal is the latest in a series of high-profile aviation agreements signed during Trump’s four-day Middle East visit.
