New York City collected $48.6 million in revenue from the first month of its congestion pricing program that the Trump administration has moved to kill, a transit agency said. The Trump administration on Wednesday moved to end the polarizing congestion pricing program in place in New York City. The U.S. Department of Transportation said in a news release Wednesday its Federal Highway Administration terminated approval of the pilot for New York's Central Business District Tolling Program,

DOT Secretary Sean Duffy terminated the program, which began Jan. 5 this year and implemented tolls on vehicles entering Manhattan below 60th Street.

President Donald Trump's administration has given New York City a deadline of March 21 to end the congestion pricing program begun last month, a policy that was intended to reduce traffic in Manhattan's central business district and raise money to upgrade aging subway and bus systems.
