SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks have traded goalie Vitek Vanecek to the Florida Panthers for forward Patrick Giles, according to the Associated Press.
SAN JOSE — Forward Walker Duehr cleared waivers on Tuesday and will be assigned to the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL. Duehr was placed on waivers by the Sharks on Monday and NHL teams had until Tuesday at 11 a.m. (PST) to claim the 6-foot-3, 205-pound winger.
NHL, Sharks and Sabres
The trade came a day after Vanecek was held off San Jose's lineup for trade-related reasons when he was scheduled to make a start against the Buffalo Sabres. Alexander Georgiev was forced to make starts on back-to-back knights and helped San Jose defeat Buffalo 6-2.
