Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey, who was already dealing with a finger injury, left the game against Portland midway through the third quarter after appearing to hurt his back during a fall. Maxey got up and went to the locker room after falling and didn't return. He finished with five points and six assists in 23 minutes in the loss.
Anfernee Simons scored 21 of his 34 points in the second half, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Philadelphia 76ers 119-102 on Monday.
Philadelphia is poor defensively and allows 22.2 points per contest to shooting guards. On top of that, Simons is averaging 20.3 PPG on back-to-backs. After a standout performance against a much better squad on Sunday, he’ll do his thing again here.
