DETROIT – The countdown is over as MDOT crews launched the final phase of the I-696 project Monday. A stretch of eastbound I-696 -- between M-10 and I-75 -- will be closed for about two years. The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.
Michigan State Police in Detroit responded to the crash, which occurred on westbound I-696 east of Dequindre Road at 5:25 a.m. on Sunday.
