Astronomers using NASA's James Webb Space Telescope have discovered a newfound moon orbiting icy Uranus, the seventh planet from the sun. The moon, known as S/2025 U1, is just 6 miles (10 kilometers) or so in diameter,

At just about 10 km (6 miles) in diameter, S/2025 U1 is incredibly small as far as moons go; it’s so tiny that Voyager 2, which flew past Uranus over 38 years earlier, didn’t have the technological capacity to spot it.

Designated S/2025 U1, the newly discovered moon is so small and faint that astronomers are wondering if Uranus might be hiding even more moons.
