Alphabet’s Google on Thursday failed to persuade a U.S. appeals panel to overturn a jury verdict and federal court order requiring the technology company to revamp its app store Play.

A US federal court ruled Thursday that Google must open its Android operating system to rival app stores, after the internet giant lost an appeal in an antitrust case filed by Fortnite maker Epic Games.

Not only did the court affirm the original ruling, it also appears to be activating a previously paused permanent injunction that will force Google to make sweeping changes to its Play Store policies.
