Leonard Hamilton, the conference’s longest-tenured men’s basketball coach, ended his collegiate career with an opening-round loss to Syracuse on Tuesday night at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, not far from where he grew up in Gastonia.

His 23-year coaching career at Florida State ended in the opening round of the ACC tournament, as No. 14 seed Syracuse defeated No. 11 FSU 66-62 on Tuesday night. With the Seminoles one and done, the Orange advanced to the second round and will face SMU on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.

Florida State tips off the ACC Tournament on Tuesday evening, hoping to be this year's NC State to send Leonard Hamilton out with a strong finish. The last time the ACC Tournament was in Charlotte, FSU advanced to the championship game before losing to Zion Williamson and Duke in 2019.
