Google has confirmed that Android 16's Live Updates are headed to phones from Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and more later this year.

It’ll come as no surprise that Gemini, Google’s AI, will play a big part in Android 16. However, it’s now moving beyond phones and coming to Wear OS, where it will replace Google Assistant. Gemini allows you to speak naturally, it can connect with a wide range of apps, and then pull required information from them.

Google announced that it would be bringing Gemini to Google TV, allowing for more conversational requests to your television. This week during Google I/O, Google expanded on this news, announcing the release of the Android 16 for TV beta.

Android 16 debuts at I/O 2025 with a June rollout, featuring a Material 3 redesign, safety upgrades, and a QPR1 Beta 1 for Pixel devices.

With the launch of Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1, Pixel Tablet users can finally personalize their lock screen clocks. Just like on Pixel phones, you can head to Settings > Wallpaper & style to change the clock’s appearance. There, you’ll find options to adjust the style, color, and size of the lock screen clock.
