Gov. Katie Hobbs is calling on the Trump administration to help negotiate a deal between the seven states that rely on the Colorado River for water.

The EAA Reservoir system — estimated to cost more than $3 billion — includes a 10,000-acre reservoir and 6,500-acre Stormwater Treatment Area (STA). Together, state officials say, the system will store and clean up to 78 billion gallons of water, sending hundreds of thousands of acre-feet of clean water south instead of toward the coasts.
