The Big Ten gave fans something to dream about when it was revealed Ohio State will travel to Bloomington on Oct. 17.
The two opponents Ohio State lost to in 2025, Indiana and Miami, played in the national championship game on Jan. 19, resulting in a 27-21 Hoosiers victory. It's the first time three different Big Ten teams have won the national title over three consecutive seasons.
Before then, Ohio State and Indiana are both set to open the 2025 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, with respective matchups against Ball State and North Texas. The rest of the 2026 schedule will be announced next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. ET, according to the Big Ten.
The Hoosiers, after beating the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis in early December, rolled to a national title win and a perfect 16-0 season. It was the first title in program history and gave the Big Ten three-straight champions.
On3 released their "2026 Way Too Early College Football Top 25," and six of Ohio State's opponents are on the list.
Specifically, six opponents on the 2026 Ohio State schedule made the top 25: Texas, Indiana, Oregon, USC, Michigan and Iowa. First up for the Buckeyes is a game on the road against the top-ranked Longhorns. While the full 2026 Big Ten schedule won’t be released until Jan. 27, Ohio State’s road game at Indiana has already been set for Oct. 17.
