The Animal Crossing series is no stranger to crossover villagers. New Horizons introduced a range of Sanrio characters a year after the game launched, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf featured four characters from The Legend of Zelda, and three from Splatoon, provided the required Amiibo were present.

Animal Crossing fans woke up to unexpected news that sent them scrambling to charge their Switch consoles. Nintendo dropped fresh details early on October 30th and, suddenly, island life felt lively again.

Tapping a Splatoon amiibo, meanwhile, will invite two more new characters, Cece and Viché, who are dressed in Splatoon-themed clothing. Splatoon items will also be added to Nook Shopping, including Splatoon lockers and Inkling headwear.

Zombies, Skeletons, and Ghosts will be fighting for top spot in Splatoon 3's upcoming Halloween-themed Splatfest.
