Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter said Friday that “an announcement on Coach Kiffin’s future is expected” on Saturday, Nov. 29. Mississippi plays Mississippi State on Nov. 28 after a bye week in Week 13.

Specifically, Landry publicly criticized then-LSU athletic director Scott Woodward following the firing of Brian Kelly. Landry, elected as governor in 2024 after eight years as the state's attorney general, told the media that Woodward, who had been the school's AD since 2019, would not hire the next football coach.

LSU football is open to a reunion with former title winning head coach Ed Orgeron, according to reports. Orgeron and Kiffin have worked together.
