LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Winter Storm Fern brought heavy snow and sleet to the Louisville area and southern Indiana this weekend. The snow began coming down Saturday afternoon and has no plans to stop through Sunday afternoon as bitter cold temperatures follow close behind.

Winter weather is over Kentucky as a massive winter storm moves across the eastern U.S., bringing snow, sleet, freezing rain or ice to millions.

As snow, sleet and ice continue to move across Kentucky, Gov. Beshear encouraged Kentuckians to stay off the roads and to seek help in the event of a power outage.
