Democratic opposition to additional DHS funding is rapidly building ahead of a Jan. 30 deadline following another fatal shooting in Minnesota.

After a second fatal shooting of a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis, Democrats say public opinion is on their side and they are willing to risk a backlash to counter what they see as police-state tactics.

“The senseless and tragic murder of Alex Pretti underscores what happens when untrained federal agents operate without accountability,” he said Monday.
