President Donald Trump disputed the assessment from his director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, and the intelligence community, stating his belief that Iran was “very close” to developing a nuclear weapon prior to Israel’s attack on its facilities last week.

President Trump said Monday that he disagrees with Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard's assessment from a few months ago that Iran is not currently trying to build a nuclear weapon and has not been doing so since 2003.

President Donald Trump though disagrees. As he inches the U.S. toward joining Israel’s war against Iran, Trump had a message for his notoriously non-interventionist DNI. “I don’t care what she said,” he told reporters on Tuesday on Air Force One. “I think they were very close to having one.”
