JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Eighty-four Indonesians freed from scam centers in Myanmar arrived in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, late Friday, part of a massive repatriation movement that is straining regional resources.

Hundreds of foreign nationals have little food, scant health care and filthy toilets in the remote camp they have been taken to, two detainees said.

Eighty-four Indonesians have returned home after being freed from scam centers in Myanmar. Part of a wider crackdown involving Thailand, Myanmar, and China, thousands have been rescued. Repatriation efforts for over 360 Indonesians continue as authorities work to combat global scams exploiting vulnerable workers.
