College Football Playoff Rankings Week 13
Digest more
The SEC dominated the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Nine teams made the cut, three more than the nearest competitor.
Texas was embarrassed on the road at Georgia over the weekend. The Longhorns trailed 14-10 before Georgia scored 21 unanswered in the final quarter. Texas is now 7-3 with games against Arkansas and Texas A&M remaining. Its playoff hopes took a huge hit, but the Longhorns are not fully dead yet.
The SEC took center stage in Week 12 with a pair of battles between College Football Playoff contenders, and the results of those ranked showdowns redefined the AP Top 25 poll for Week 13. Oklahoma and Georgia climbed closer to the top of the national pecking order with victories that kept them squarely in postseason contention.
There are seven SEC teams still in the CFP hunt — Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas and Vanderbilt — and only one game between those seven (Texas A&M at Texas Nov. 28). Texas A&M is in the field, assuming it beats lowly FCS Samford on Saturday.
