The pilot of the private jet that crashed early Thursday morning in Tierrasanta, killing all six people on board and injuring eight people on the ground, did not declare an emergency or call in any type of mechanical issue with the plane before it clipped a power line and slammed into a residential street, federal authorities said Friday.

A small plane crashed in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood, near Tierrasanta, early Thursday morning, prompting a major emergency response.

A number of resources are available for people forced to evacuate a neighborhood in San Diego following a deadly plane crash in the area early Thursday morning.

Neighbors mobilized to get families out of their homes, yelling and pounding on doors. Eight people on the ground suffered minor injuries.
