Six people died Sunday afternoon when a small plane crashed in the ocean off the coast of San Diego, the Federal Aviation Administration said Monday.

The Coast Guard said that a Cessna plane went down around 12:50 p.m. on Sunday, three miles west of Point Loma. They have three boats and a helicopter investigating.
