NFL insider Rich Eisen says the Giants matched the Rams' asking price for Matthew Stafford but the veteran QB elected to remain in Los Angeles.

Matthew Stafford is sticking around on a restructured deal with the Rams after he turned down a reportedly even bigger offer from the Giants.

The New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders believed that the Los Angeles Rams were serious about trading Matthew Stafford if those teams could pay him more, but according to Rich Eisen there was no such number that could have caused Stafford to leave L.

The New York Giants could be in line for a major pickup in free agency this year with Aaron Rodgers on the market.

On Sunday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport claimed the Giants were exploring bringing Rodgers in as their quarterback for next season and that the two sides were a pretty good fit, even if New York is set on selecting a quarterback during the 2025 NFL draft.

Some around the NFL are pumping the brakes on the idea Aaron Rodgers will merely switch locker rooms at MetLife Stadium, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Fowler reported Sunday there are people in the league "putting this in the 'we will see' category" when it comes to Rodgers signing with the New York Giants.

The last team to trade out of the No. 1 overall pick was the Chicago Bears in 2023. They struck a deal with the Carolina Panthers and received their first-round pick (No. 9), a second-round pick, a 2024 first-round pick, which turned into quarterback Caleb Williams, a 2025 second-round pick and wide receiver D.J. Moore.
