Flare-ups continued across Los Angeles overnight after a day of mostly peaceful demonstrations over immigration enforcement that saw the Trump administration take the rare step of deploying active-duty Marines to the area.

Trump has authorized the deployment of an additional 2,000 National Guard members to help respond to protests in Los Angeles over immigration raids.

While much of the city was spared from any violence, clashes swept through several downtown blocks and a handful of other places.
