A London-bound passenger plane crashed shortly after take-off in India on Thursday, June 12. More than 240 people were onboard, Air India confirmed in a post on X.

The AI-171 Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 aeroplane bound for London's Gatwick had crashed shortly after it took off from the Ahmedabad International Airport on Thursday. The airlines said only one out of the 242 people on board the aircraft survived the crash.

The AI-171 to London Gatwick, which crashed shortly after takeoff on Thursday, was carrying 169 Indian nationals, along with 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese nationals and one Canadian.
