John Elway was seen in good spirits hobnobbin' with rich folk and throwing back a beverage from a Styrofoam cup just two hours before he was involved in a golf cart accident that killed his good friend,

Reality TV star Johnny Bananas was on the golf cart with John Elway and Jeff Sperbeck at the time of the incident, according to TMZ. Bananas, whose real name is Johnny Devenanzio, was standing on the back of the golf cart with Sperbeck, TMZ reports. John Elway and his wife were in the front seat.

Investigators told the Denver Post “nothing” they have discovered leads them to believe the head injury Sperbeck suffered is a law enforcement issue.
