The Federal Trade Commission announced this week that Care.com will refund more than $8 million to users nationwide after the company was found to have misled consumers and made it difficult for them to cancel memberships.

The FTC issued 629,344 payments to “Fortnite” players in December 2024, a first round of refunds that totaled more than $72 million. In this second round, the FTC says it will send 969,173 checks and PayPal payments between June 25 and June 26 to players who filed a valid claim.

Eligible Fortnite players who felt bamboozled into making unwanted purchases have been given a second chance to request a refund. The Federal Trade Commission has reopened applications to receive refunds from the $245 million settlement that Epic Games reached with the agency until July 9th, after previously closing requests in February.
