SDSU head coach Eric Henderson is set to be named the new men’s basketball coach at Drake University. The announcement was made Friday afternoon. Henderson was promoted from associate head coach to head coach in March of 2019.

Eric Henderson, who led South Dakota State to two NCAA Tournament appearances in six seasons, has been hired as Drake’s head coach, the school announced Friday. The 46-year-old Henderson replaces Ben McCollum,

"My family and I are elated to join Drake Nation," Henderson, formerly the head coach of the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, said.

Drake University announced on Friday that it has hired South Dakota State’s Eric Henderson as its next men’s basketball head coach. Henderson played college basketball under Greg McDermott at Wayne State College in Nebraska and later joined McDermott at Iowa State as a graduate manager.
