The Department of Homeland Security removed a list of hundreds of so-called sanctuary jurisdictions that it published on its website Thursday following questions about its accuracy and pointed criticism from a major group representing law enforcement.

WASHINGTON >> The U.S. Department of Homeland Security removed a list of “sanctuary” states, cities and counties from its website following sharp criticism from a sheriffs’ association that said a list of “non-compliant” sheriffs could damage the relationship between the Trump administration and law enforcement.

The Department of Homeland Security released a list of more than 500 “sanctuary jurisdictions,” including cities and counties in California, that the agency has placed on notice that President Trump’s administration views them as obstructing immigration enforcement.
